Adult foreign nationals are entitled to lessons in the Danish language.
The local council of the municipality in which the foreign national resides has a duty to offer Danish lessons within one month of an adult foreign national arriving in the municipality.
The purpose of teaching Danish as a second language is to help adult foreign nationals acquire the necessary Danish language skills and knowledge of the culture and society in Denmark.
